About the Department
The Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine was formally established in 1964. Paediatrics became a clinical subject for the final MBBS examination in 1965. When the Professorial Block was opened, the Department was given half of a floor, which already seemed like luxury compared to the previous single private room space. Years later, the New Clinical Building was completed and the Department was allotted a whole floor. This floor still forms the main part of the Department up to today. Our Department supports the paediatric clinical service at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong Children's Hospital, Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital, HKU-Shenzhen Hospital, and Gleneagle Hospital.
